Case study / Website design and functionality
H&L Services of NW Florida
The business and what the site needed to do.
H&L Services of NW Florida is a family-run tree service in Apalachicola, operated by Harold and Lindsey Walker. The company handles tree removal, trimming and pruning, land clearing, palm care, and storm cleanup across Franklin County.
People often arrive with an urgent concern, not the name of a service. The site needed to help them recognize the problem, trust the crew, and reach H&L quickly from any screen.
The direction and why.
The design pairs a calm coastal palette with large, direct language and real photography from H&L job sites. Instead of opening with a long service list, the page asks what the visitor sees—an unsafe tree, close branches, an unhealthy palm, a lot that needs clearing, or storm damage—and turns each answer into a useful next step.
Specific decisions.
- 01Start with the customer’s problem
Plain-language choices help visitors find the right service even when they do not know the industry term for what is happening on their property.
- 02Make the local crew visible
Real jobsite photography and direct writing establish that H&L is a family-run Apalachicola business, not an anonymous referral service.
- 03Put useful local information in context
The service area, Apalachicola tree-permit guide, and practical FAQs answer common questions without interrupting the main path to a quote.
- 04Keep contact within reach
The phone number and job-details route stay prominent across desktop and mobile, so a visitor with a damaged or unsafe tree can act immediately.
